Networks N.V. (NASDAQ NM: MADGF) has announced an addition to its
Smart Ringswitch family of switches. The new Smart Ringswitch Express
Select has more flexible customer configuration options than the existing
Smart Ringswitch Express switches. The new switch offers three option
slots that allow customers to choose their own configuration of connection
modules.
The Smart Ringswitch family of switches provides customers with advanced
4/16/32/100Mbps Token Ring switching and the ability to integrate
Gigabit, Ethernet, ATM and layer 3 IP services with Token Ring. The
switches boost performance, improve the traffic management, increase
the efficiency of Token Ring networks, and offer a low cost and low
risk way to integrate Gigabit, Ethernet and ATM into Token Ring networks.
The Smart Ringswitch Express Select uses the same proven and trusted
hardware option modules and software platform as other members of
the Madge Smart Ringswitch family.
The Smart Ringswitch Express switches are typically used either to
micro-segment hub-based Token Ring networks, to concentrate multiple
Madge Smart DeskStream desktop switches or to provide simple and cost-effective
Token Ring integration with Gigabit, Ethernet or ATM networks.
