WLAN Enterprise Access Server 100
London: 20 April 2005 - Madge, a leading supplier
of enterprise Wireless Local Area Networking (WLAN) management and
security technology, today introduced the WLAN Enterprise Access Server
100 – a WLAN security and management appliance targeted at both
small business and enterprise branch office networks.
According to a November 2004 study by Infonetics Research, the small
business segment offers the highest market growth opportunity for
wireless networks.
The WLAN Enterprise Access Server 100 is the first complete sub $1000
WLAN Solution that addresses the demands of small to medium-sized
businesses (SMBs) and that is secure, manageable, and easy-to-deploy
right ‘out-of-the-box’.
As a full family member of the growing Madge EAS family of products
the EAS 100 offers identical functionality to the larger EAS appliance
or software solutions and thus makes implementations across Enterprises
easy and consistent.

areas such as branch offices and the SMB market,” said Martin

and management features in a small form factor and at a new price

The Enterprise Access Server 100 provides, in a compact form factor,
the ability to offer enterprise class security and management features
for multiple vendors access points, including Madge, Cisco, Proxim
, D-Link and 3COM. It thereby represents a true multi-vendor solution
for secure WLANs.
It also includes all the functionality of the other members of the
Enterprise Access Server (EAS) family. Scalability is therefore guaranteed
from a single access point solution to multi-site implementations
with many thousands of enterprise users.
Priced at $899 , the WLAN Enterprise Access Server 100 will support
up to 5 access points and serve secure WLAN services to up to 100
users.
First customer shipments are planned in May
