Connecting to AS400 with Miniport Drivers on Windows Systems

This page provides information about connecting to an AS400 with the miniport drivers MDGMPORT.SYS, MDGNDIS4.SYS and MDGNDIS5.SYS

Instructions are given for

Installing AS400 under Windows 95, 98, 2000, XP and ME

  1. Go to the Network window. To do this click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click the Network icon.

  2. In the Network window click highlight the Protocol option and click Add. The system displays the Select Network Protocol window.

  3. From the list of Manufacturers, select Microsoft.

  4. From the list of Network Protocols, select Microsoft 32-bit DLC or Microsoft DLC.

  5. Click OK. You will be prompted for the Windows CD-ROM.

  6. Insert the CD-ROM and follow on-screen instructions.

  7. Re-boot your computer.

Installing AS400 under Windows NT 3.51 and 4

  1. Go to the Network window. To do this, click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and double-click the Network icon.

  2. In the Network window, click the Protocols tab and click Add. The system displays the Select Network Protocol window.

  3. From the list of protocols, select DLC Protocol.

  4. Click OK.

  5. Insert the NT 4 CD-ROM, type the path, and click Continue.

  6. Close all windows and reboot your computer.
