TrueView/32 Enterprise for Unix Updates This page contains updates to the current version of TrueView/32 Enterprise for Unix for registered users only. These updates will be included in the next full software release, which will be automatically sent to all users who are registered for the Software Update Service. Download and installation instructions: These are compressed Unix tar files - please read the following unpacking instructions before downloading. The descriptions below assume that the appropriate file has been downloaded into the directory "/tmp" (any directory with sufficient disk space can be used). The required disk space is approximately twice the size of the download file. The instructions also assume a fictitious application called "xxxx". All operations should be performed as the root user. AIX 1) Make sure the download filename has a capital "Z" extension. If necessary, enter: % mv xxxxaix.z xxxxaix.Z 2) Uncompress the downloaded file on the target AIX workstation. % uncompress xxxxaix.Z 3) This will generate an uncompressed tar file that can be de-tarred. % tar xf xxxxaix 4) This will create a directory "webaix". This contains: AIX.OUT - the installation image for application "xxxx" install - the install script that installs the application README - important information about the application acrobat_install - an install script for Adobe Acrobat Reader install.pdf - install guide that can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader install.html - install guide in HTML format acrobat4/ - Adobe Acrobat Reader software depot getver/ and license/ - used by the install script manuals/ - user manuals in Adobe PDF format 5) Read the install guide in text format or view the install.pdf file using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you need to install Adobe Acrobat Reader, run the install script provided and follow the instructions. % /tmp/webaix/acrobat_install 6) Run the install script as directed in the install guide and follow the instructions. % /tmp/webaix/install 7) You can remove the temporary directory "webaix" after installation if you wish.
